I moved to Finland early 1992 from East Anglia (England). After a quite spell in the countyside, I performed as a street musician in Turku up until 2003. I formed in late 1992 "Shadow of Rain" later "British Mix" performing at Kaustinen. I was a founder member of "Turunkaksriviset" (1994) and "Lagerphone" (1995) and 1993 I joined Turun Kansantassin Ystävät as a Pelimanni. I still perform with TKRS and TKTY.
I started "on the long and winding road" to establish the Hurdygurdy into Finnish Folk circles in 1995. " With a little help from my friends" it is growing and many people, now, have more knowledge of this unusual, unique and often misunderstood instrument.
